MAX7219 LED Dot Matrix 4 In 1 Display with 5P Line Module
The MAX7219 4-in-1 Dot Matrix Display Module is an integrated serial input/output common-cathode display driver that connects a microprocessor to an 8-digit 7-segment digital LED display. It can also interface with a bar graph display or 64 individual LEDs. The module includes a BCD encoder chip, a multi-channel scanning loop for segment drivers, and static RAM (8×8) for data storage, requiring only one external register to set the segment current for each LED.
Each module features an 8×8 LED matrix, with precise control provided by the MAX7219 driver, allowing you to create desired color patterns. The major advantage is that you can control all 64 LEDs using just three output wires connected to microcontrollers like Arduino.
It utilizes a convenient four-wire serial interface compatible with common microprocessors, allowing data to be addressed individually without needing to refresh all displays during updates. The MAX7219 also provides the option to encode or not encode each piece of data.
The entire device features a low-power shutdown mode (150μA), analog and digital brightness control, a scan limit register for displaying 1-8 bits of data, and a test mode that illuminates all LEDs.
